About

About the AHPRA Experience Monitor

A structured, anonymous data-collection initiative for Australian doctors to record their experiences with AHPRA regulatory processes.

Project overview

What is this project?

The AHPRA Experience Monitor is an independent practitioner-led initiative to systematically collect de-identified data about doctors' experiences with AHPRA regulatory processes. It is not a complaints portal and has no affiliation with AHPRA.

The project covers five feedback pathways: notification experiences, fees and financial management, CPD and digital services, general regulatory confidence, and governance and accountability.

Why does this exist?

Aggregate, structured data about practitioner experiences with regulatory processes is scarce. Without it, advocacy for systemic reform relies on anecdote rather than evidence. This project aims to fill that gap.

All data is de-identified and collected anonymously. It may be used in submissions to parliamentary inquiries, professional body reviews, and other advocacy contexts.

Who can participate?

  • Any registered Australian medical practitioner
  • Practitioners who have received an AHPRA notification
  • Any doctor with views on fees, CPD, governance, or responsiveness
  • Practitioners who have since retired or left practice

How is anonymity maintained?

  • No names, registration numbers, or contact details are collected or stored
  • Case numbers are cryptographically generated and cannot be linked to identity
  • Free-text responses are reviewed for inadvertent identifying information
  • No IP addresses are logged
